These cookies offer a modern twist on my Great Grandmother Fletcher’s cherished molasses cookie recipe. Pairing classic pantry staples with a warm spice blend of cinnamon and cardamom, these cookies deliver deep, comforting flavors and a soft texture. To avoid the extra work of rolling out dough, I turned my version into a drop cookie, with the added twist of folding delicate streusel bites into the batter. These cookies are perfect on their own, or you can add a touch of sweetness with an optional vanilla icing drizzle. I hope you enjoy my twist on a classic and that these cookies become a beloved family tradition.
