The final stop on our Alaskan cruise was Icy Strait Point, outside Hoonah, Alaska. This was the port I was least looking forward to. On our last cruise, we did a bear and whale tour. The bears were nowhere to be found, but we did come across some bear scat. I paid quite a bit of money to see bear poop! The only wildlife we saw from our viewing deck was a deer.

Since our up-close glacier tour was canceled, we decided to explore downtown Juneau on our own. We visited Mendenhall Glacier a few years ago on a cruise, so we avoided the crowds and explored downtown instead. We had very little time in town on our previous visit.

Our final day on the Disney Wonder was a sea day, which meant taking the slow, lazy route from Ensenada back to San Diego since a cruise ship can easily cover the distance in 3 to 4 hours. My bestie and I had planned a day lounging on the pool deck, soaking up a little sun and fresh air. Unfortunately, the cloudy skies and chilly winds foiled our plans.
