We all have a bucket list. Mine mostly revolves around travel and food. (See more on my travel adventures here.) One item on my list was seeing the interior of Alaska, and the other was taking a first class flight. I am happy to report that this summer I got…
As we all know by now, I love afternoon tea. That love for tea has also led me to eat plenty of scones. Some have been absolutely fabulous and others, not so much. Granted, a great cup of tea can make almost anything better.
I’ve been thinking about expanding the blog. When I first started, I wasn’t sure how often I wanted to post or if I would stick to posting once a week or add another day with more content. I’m still worried about over-committing, but this whole journey is about challenging myself and growing.
Welcome Back! I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I’ll be honest, it’s been difficult getting back into things. Luckily, I was working on a lot of content before leaving on my Alaskan vacation. I had an amazing time with my family and my bestie. This was a bucket list vacation for all of us, so it was exciting to check something off our list. I can’t wait to share more with you about my adventures in future posts.

I’ve always had an interest in photography. There is just an artistry to capturing the perfect moment in time. Ever since I got my first 110 Kodak Pocket Camera, I pictured myself as a great photographer, taking the most incredible pictures. My imagination was far better than reality. When it comes to photography, I am definitely NOT an artist!

As part of my wellness evolution, I’ve promised myself that I will spend more time focusing on how I feel emotionally, not just how healthy my body is. It is easy to focus on how many steps I take in a day, what kind of exercise I’m doing, how many calories I eat, and if I’m eating the right foods.

When I was a kid, my family kept our trips pretty simple. We often spent long weekends tent camping at a nearby lake. My dad had a yellow speedboat that we always took with us. I enjoyed when he would drive us around the lake, but frankly, I was NOT an outdoorsy child. I appreciate nature much more now.

I have been reflecting on what brings me joy. It’s a part of health that people often overlook. It’s easy to focus on all the “must-dos” for health, but we forget to do the things that make us happy. Like I said before, I am focused on finding a good balance.

One of my biggest challenges in launching Random Musings of a Gal Reinventing was my constant need for perfection. I saw other blogs that looked amazing—beautiful pages, perfectly curated content, flawless photos, and beautiful color schemes —and wanted the same for my blog right away.
