Mississippi River Walk: June 24-July 29, 2026

Welcome to another Walking Wednesday Wrap!

This past month has been a little crazy, a lot of fun and full of adventure. Many of these miles were covered in Las Vegas, the Alaskan Wilderness and on a moving ship. If we weren’t walking in extreme heat, we were walking in the blistering cold. Every mile was worth it and the sights we saw along the way were breathtaking.

Here are our monthly updates, which are cause for celebration because we completed another challenge, and as usual, we were ahead of schedule.

These are the miles my bestie and I have covered for this challenge. We are finished several days ahead of schedule. We had some concerns since we were traveling for over three weeks but we did it!

I am happy to report that I finished 15 days ahead of schedule. I tend to set unrealistic expectations of myself, but I am glad that I challenged myself and avoided injuries and exhaustion (see more here). I’m also happy that spending several days on my backside while traveling by plane, bus, train, and cruise ship did not hinder my progress.

Here’s a look at some of the places we have visited this month on our virtual walk along the Mississippi River. We have also learned about the Mark Twain National Forest and the river’s historic paddle steamers.

Here is my current walking playlist. What types of music do you listen to while walking or exercising? I hope you will share it with me in the comments.
